We're off .......
I won't be blogging for a while because of the holidays ! Tonight we will leave by ferry to England; to Yorkshire to be precisely.
In a while i'll be back .... hopefully with lots of stories and pictures !!

Wonderful weekend ......
Last weekend my (blog) friend Hanne and her husband and daughter came all the way from Norway to visit us for a few days !! We had the most wonderful weekend all together !!!
Ofcourse we did go out for some sightseeing....we visited the monastry where i work as an volunteer, below you see some pictures ....
And we went to Bourtange, a little "fortress" village where some buildings go back to the year 1742.
But also nice houses from a later period.
We also discoverd some nice shops where we ofcourse had to go in and take a look !!!
Ofcourse we did go out for some sightseeing....we visited the monastry where i work as an volunteer, below you see some pictures ....
And we went to Bourtange, a little "fortress" village where some buildings go back to the year 1742.
But also nice houses from a later period.
We also discoverd some nice shops where we ofcourse had to go in and take a look !!! In our garden i placed little flower-bouquets in glasses on sticks along the path; a nice welcome to our friends.
Hanne and i share the love for gardens and gardening.... so it was fun to show her around my garden. 
Here you see some of the flowers (!) in my vegetable-garden !!
If you could only smell these wonderful Sweet Peas ......
The last few days we had very heavy rains...already some little apples fell from the trees and instead of leaving them in the grass i made a heart out of them !
Whenever it is dry again we try to sit outside, so do Rosa and Mara ...... (!)
But for me no problem when it rains because i got some wonderful magazines from Hanne, and then i will sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy them :)

Summer-deco and a challenge.....
At the local supermarket i bought this little step, it was only 3,99 euro ! 
It was not painted, i did that myself and i placed in front of our livingroom window .... nice for decorating and handy because our sofa is in front of that window and now you can also see from inside what is on the windowsill :)
I took our little coffeetable out and replaced it by one which was on the attic... it is an old plant table from my grandmother. I also painted it and now it gives our livingroom a "summary" touch .
On the sofa you see a pillow i did crochet ! My first crocheting-project since i was a little girl and i really like it, now i have started a second one !
More touches of pink in the livingroom... i like that in the summer.

And guess what, in a few day my Norwegian (blog)friend Hanne (Min Verden) and her family are coming to stay with us !!!!! I am so looking forward to that : ))
CHALLENGE :
From Monica (Monica's Hage) i got the challenge to show 5 of my favourite flowers from my own garden.... so here they are !
Another favourite are the Geraniums.. such an easy plant and in so many different varieties.
This Aquilegia is so special because of her colour i think ! Mostly you see them in purple, pink or white but this dark-red one is so beautiful.
Loads of Foxgloves in my garden, most of them pink but this one is also nice, the white one. I like the way they attract the bumble-bees ......
In summertime a big favourite is the Hollyhock , or Stokroos as we call them. I picked this one because of his colour: almost black !!
It was very hard to pick 5 flowers because i love all the flowers in my garden :))

Summer impression ......
Hope you are all enjoying the summer-time ..... with these pictures i'll give you an impression of our summer !
The table from the pictures above looked quit different when we took it away from behind the shed where it had been standing for many years !
The wooden top was rotten so we took it off and gave it a nice new top.
After a few layers of paint it lookes like this...
Freshly digged potatoes from our vegetable-garden.
A very old "linen-rack" in use in the orchard. I also use it when i wash the covers of our sofa's .... for drying the covers because the washing-line is to small !
