It was so exciting... i love unexpected presents !! This was ofcourse a special one, all the way from Scandinavia .....
It contained 3 fantastic Christmas-decorations; 2 angels and 1 star.
They were perfect for my little tree in the frontwindow. Dear Hanne and Tone: thank you so much, i am so happy with them...
Christmas-eve we spend with my mother .... this is her front-window seen from her garden. It's not a fine picture but i just wanted to show it because it looked so nice and cosy when we arrived. She is 70 years old and still enjoys it to decorate her Christmas-tree every year ! Her tree is full of angels which she collects...whenever we are abroad we try to find one for her :)
Before Christmas i had been baking....with help from Lynn from the blog Bun Mountain Cottagei managed to make the original mince-pies. We bought them before, when we were in Great Britain and sometimes our friends from Wales did sent them and we all love them over here, they are so delicious !
They tasted just as nice as they looked !! Thanks again Lynn :)
This year we had a quite "international" afternoon-tea :) On the top-plate you see the German chocolatecookies which i bought and the cookies made from a recipe that i got from Tone from Norway !!

Do they look a bit familiar to yours, Tone ??Anyway they all tasted wonderful and it was nice to bake them. Today my family and i have been baking again but that has to do with New Years Eve traditions and i'll tell you about it next time. For now there have been enough cookies, i think :)

Wat leuk je cadeautjes! Mmm en die koekjes...heerlijk er gaat toch niets boven zelfgebakken? En nu weer aan het bakken? Laat me raden? Hihihi die zijn ook het lekkerst als je ze zelf maakt! Het doet mij zo denken aan mijn kindertijd toen mijn tante en oma in mijn herinnering de hele avond oliebollen en appelbeignets stonden te bakken. Wij kinderen mochten dan helpen en liepen (alweer in mijn herinnering) de hele avond af en aan met schalen oliebollen. Het zullen er wel niet zoveel geweest zijn als in mijn herinnering, maar dat doet aan de warme gevoelens erbij niets af. Ik wil jou en je gezin dan ook een hele warme jaarwisseling toewensen. Ik wens jullie alvast een goed, gelukkig en gezond 2009!

Everything looks delicious!!! How nice that your mother still delights in her Christmas tree. I had to really talk my mother into doing hers this year. She did a small one but at least she did one. Your gifts from Norway are really beautiful.

O yess - the "Berlinerkranser" looked familiar! Here in my family they are a must, and I always have to double the dough...we have enough cookies as well...

The christmas has been ok, - sometimes I feel that dinnerparties and familygatherings are just toooo much - but its kind of nice as well...hehe.
Had an evening at the sofa with redwine and pizza - enjoyed!!
Sitting here alone, family has gone to bed, finally mum can have the computer for a while...
Candles from the tree light up the livingroom, - and its nice and quiet all over.
